2018 SMRP Symposium Features Operations Executive Keynote

Registration is now open for the 2018 Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP) Symposium, with a speech from John Smith, Senior Vice President or Operations at FedEx Freight. The event will take place from 6 to 7 June 2018 in Memphis, Tennessee.

Smith's main presentation focuses on strengthening supervisors to strengthen a culture of safety, reliability and collective responsibility in the workplace. He has more than 30 years of experience with FedEx Freight maintenance activities and organizations, including the management of nearly 40,000 team members and approximately 350 service centers. Memphis is the home of FedEx Freight's global headquarters.

"We are excited to build on the success of the inaugural GPRS symposium by having John speak in Memphis," said Erin Erickson, executive director of the program. "His expertise and dedication to quality, safety and reliability will resonate with all participants."

In its second year, the SMRP Symposium will attract more than 100 professionals and professionals in the areas of maintenance, reliability and physical asset management for two days of education, networking and certification. Participants will participate in hands-on workshops led by SMRP members and learn about maintenance practices at local facilities and companies in the Memphis region.

Registration for early birds is open until 25 April 2018, but participants can register until the first day of the event. For more information about registration, workshops and other planned activities, visit the Symposium webpage.
